I put together a Traditions Kentucky Rifle Kit with the help of a friend about a year ago. I wanted it to look antiqued so I browned the barrel on it.

My question

Who makes an adustable sight for this (up and down not side to side)? That will fit a traditions dovetail.

Do they make one unfinished so I could brown it to match my rifle?

Does anyone make a wider brass blade front sight for this gun so it is more visible and fills up a rear sight better?

I want to keep this looking someone antiqued and do not want to really sell out to fiber optics etc.

Pennsylvania Newt :v

Go to track of the wolf and look at their adjustable elevation RE Davis buck tail site, they also sell front sightes in all configurations, a little filling on the dovetail and site is all thats required.

i use old keys to make front sight blades.they are about the right thickness. i have restored a lot of old winchester front sights with them.

:hmm: Your "traditional" sights will sometimes have a method of raising or lowering the rear sight--the windage adjustment can be adjusted by tapping the front sight to the right or left---the correct movement for adjustment of "fixed sights" can be remembered by using the mnemonic FORS ---Front Opposite---Rear Same. I.E. if you wish to move the shot to the right---by shifting the front sight---Front Opposite---i.e. move the front sight towards the left. It may not make sense but when you think about it, I'm fairly certain you will catch on. :hatsoff:
