Osprey was kind enough to let me play with a piece of his Sika hide he tanned this year. I backed it with a piece of whitetail processed leather and made a flap. I was surprised on how thick the hair is on these guys. It made a pretty nice and different flap for a bag headed to Germany. Thanks again Osprey.

You are right....it DID make into a very nice and unusual bag. You do very nice work!

I really like that dark strip of hair down the middle, I assume from the back of the Sika. Makes me want to do the same with a hide from our Sitka blacktails.

Yeah, I had a feeling I was going to get put to shame by the Master. :surrender: Very nice bag! Next season I'm just tanning one and sending the whole thing to you - and then sitting by the mailbox to see what comes back! :rotf:

:haha:
Nothing wrong with the bag you made out of either. I still can't get over how thick the hair is, nothing like a whitetails coat.

Romeoh must be workin hard, he hasn't seen it yet.

I believe its called a Rome holiday.... :haha: must be hard work :haha:

Yeah, it's a different hair for certain, thick and nappy. You should see it fresh - saturated with mud and covered with urine and other bodily fluids from them working and rolling in the wallows. Mmmm-mmm!

Here I am friends, back from Rome. :hatsoff:
I wouldn´t call the trip "work" but it really was exhausting and somehow unbelievable.

And now, back home, what do I see? :shocked2:
Such a beautiful bag! For me?

Thanky you very, very much Swampy! :applause:  :applause:  :applause:

Bucktales and his wife were so kind to bring the bag with them here to bavaria.
