I just finished up this simple powder horn. I named it "the man in the moon "

Doc.. Its Osage Orange wood. Its my favorite wood. I like a simple horn. Most of the old horns I see in collections are very simple. By the way ..My first family member came over from England in 1640. He was a Shipwright.Age 14.(Leonard Drowne)
 
Jeff I like Osage as well, its interesting how it darken with exposure to sunlight, gets that almost chocolate color after a time. That looks great now and should be even better(IMHO) in a couple years
just some thoughts YMHS Birdman
 
..Birdman I got selfbows I made around 30 years ago that are a very dark redish brown. I love it. Yes ..they do tan. Even ones a year old are so much darker.
