Made this simple horn for hunting and shooting.

Purchased the polished horn from Powderhornsandmore. It is about 13 1/2 inches along the bottom curve. The plug and spout are eastern hemlock stained mahogany. The string is leather from Wal-mart.

This is horn number 5 for me. Made the others in the 90's. Two have been used every season, one for main charge and the other for prime. The other two I gave to my brothers who also use them. This represents my best work. I will probably make more later. I would like to make a nice one some day with carvings and scrimshaw, but my skills will have to get much better.

Thanks,

FH

I used a file to shape the spout into a hexagonal shape, but it doesn't show in the picture. I'll try to post another picture or two with better lighting.
