Picked up a reproduction Cook carbine.
Fired the Burton ball, Williams bullet and .550 Pritchett. All shot very, very accurately at 40 yards from a rest.
With 60 grains of 3F the Williams was about 6” low, pretty much the same for the Burton with 50 grains of 3F.
The Pritchett with 60 grns of 3F was about 3” low. All excellent and I have a front sight I can shorten…
Question: what should my 50 yard POI be to have a roughly 100 yard zero?
Or maybe just a 75 yard zero since this gun is just for fun and shooting hogs.
My round ball guns I zero about 2” high at 50 and that puts them on at 75 and a couple inches low at 100. What should I roughly be looking at here for trajectory at. 50/75/100?
Thanks!!
