Need some help trying to find and 18th century style sling for my new Flintlock (.58 cal circa 1750)

I like the leather on the swivels but prefer some type of woven with a pattern or colors. Find the period correct military slings to "white" for my taste. I'm going to Dixon's muzzleloading fair in 2 weeks so might have some luck there.

I'm using this flintlock purely for hunting but still want the sling to match the rifle

thanks for pointing me in the right direction...J

You'll kiss that sling for it loyal service when you get a deer down and have to drag it out, and especially when you need two hands to negotiate tough terrain.

No suggestions for what details are "right" but I can sure endorse a sling for hunting. I even carry a slip on to use in such situations with guns not rigged for them.

You might want to check with OhioRamm on this Forum. She does some really nice weaving (I don't know if she does slings, but worth a check). I'm sure she would work with you to get what you want in a sling.

Probably some others on here as well, I just can't call them to mind right now.

Wattlebuster thanks for the link!

Wilde has exactly the type of weave I'm looking for.

Your setup is real nice too!!

I'll try to contact them tomorrow to see if they'll sew the loops onto my swivels.
