OK, here is the deal.

I have recently aquired an underhammer buggy rifle in the .45 caliber size. I have been wanting a .32 caliber squirrel rifle for a long time. However, I shoot left-handed, and I do not want to pay $900.00 for a squirrel rifle. I can get a .36 caliber barrel for the underhammer very reasonable. I really wanted a .32 caliber barrel, but if requires a lot of do-it-yourself finishing.

So, talk to me. Would you hold out for the .32, get the .36, or just shoot em with the .45?

Thanks Guys :master:

Hey a bigger ball makes a bigger hole and makes them fall a hole lot faster. But i would wait and see waht you can find. But thats just me and good luck finding one.

Would you believe I use a .54 for my squirrel and bunny hunting? This year I'll probably be toting a .50 for all.

Use the .45 after figuring out what your most accurate load is, and remembering a light load is easier on the ears, wallet and meat. I have a good 42 gr. FFg load for my .54 that klonks 'em right good.

Everyone needs 4 muzzleloaders

54 for hunting larger game
40 for target work
32 for small game
62/20 guage for fun

If I had to bet, somewhere down the line you'll obtain a 32 or 36 caliber rifle. You'll just prolonging the wait! :)

You bet.... only my target rifle is percusion. Honestly, everyone is different, but really this is all I need. Most people start out cheap and store bought, I did. That fine because after that if you really enjoy this sport/hobbie/obsession you will end up upgrading in quality, after that you go looking for orignals. After that your wife will starts loosing her patiences.
