How are things shaping up in your part of the world?

After bottoming out in our 10 year snowshoe hare cycle, things are definitely on the upswing. Seeing lots of youngsters bouncing through the underbrush these days, so looking forward to a great fall and winter. I better get busy and finally make that 20 grain powder measure and 32 caliber loading block, because the shooting may be fast and furious.

Ptarmigan have similarly gone through the bottom of their cycle, and a hike last week turned up more new clutches than I've seen in years. Time to get that 20 gauge double front stuffer I've been contemplating!

Mr. BrownBear,
Same thing for our area. Hare are definately on the increase and the Grouse started to improve last year. Looks to be a much better year for small game. :)
Best Wishes

Thanks be to God for small game. I'm glad your hare and ptarmigan are on the upswing.

I'm almost glad more people don't pursue small game.
