Looking for a historically correct small shooting pouch and a little day horn for my southern mountain percussion .36 caliber. My bigger bag and horn for my .54 are just that: bigger. And heavier. Wanting to use them for day hunts in the woods.

Wanting one that doesn't look all beat up either, or antiqued. Want it to look new. Something simple without a bunch of stuff on it. Cloth or leather. I heard some pouches were cloth, that would be cool and unique, but leather would be fine. Any makers out there? I looked on Track of the Wolf, October Country, etc. and didn't really find what I wanted. I want a small bag only about 7x7" or even 6x6" with enough room for some balls, caps, some patches and a couple cleaning tools and that's it. I'd like a smaller horn, maybe 6-8" long, more of a day horn. The bag and horn should be 1840's-1860's style time period.

Thanks guys!

Send cutfingers a note for a bag and horner75 for a horn.

What about the bag in the classifieds?

Unless you are looking for something specific to where you are, I'd check out Jeff Bibb if you want a small, historically correct bag and horn to go with a southern mountain rifle. There are lots of other good makers, too, but you're not likely to find what you want from the big vendors.

Check out Darrel Lang....Leather from the past....he does a great job, and prices are very resonable

a friend picked up a .36 rifle that had a small bag made out of homespun white cotton. in it was a mold for the rifle some patches cap tin and a powder flask for a cap and ball pistol. and powder measure.

cutfingers bags are custom, made one at a time.

Did you send him a note seeking what you want?

Thanks, gang. I messaged Cutfingers about making me one. It would be really cool to have one custom made, and not generic from a store. I'm afraid I have no leather skills and would prefer to purchase one.

horner75 does nice work, he made me a small flat horn with a sitting squirrel on one side and 2 oak leaves and an acorn on the other side.

Waiting on a response for another flat horn, a hog on one side and a laying doe whitetail on the otherside to go with a new rifle.

cutfingers makes a really nice turtle ball bag.
