Vinney, nobody should have to suffer with a gun that won't shoot right. I suggest you send it to me for evaluation and extensive field testing. I will get it back to you as soon as i figure out what the problem is. Might take a while though. ::

Vinnynj,
Did I read your post correctly??? You are shooting 65g of FFg???
That's a major load for a .62 cal rifle. I'd say that would have a little to do with your accuracy problems.
Try cutting that in half at least!!!
A smoothy is just like any other Muzzleloader. Accuracy is the right combination of powder, patch and ball. :m2c:

I'll go along with rebel.....no use wasting yer time on those things.....its a wall hanger at best..
let me know what ya want fer it and I take it off yer hands and hang it on my wall.....iffin I can find a spot.

My twenty bore flint lock pistol has a twelve inch barrel.
I use a load of 40 grains of GOEX ffg under a .600 ball and a .010 patch. I can hit a 9" pie tin consistently at 40 feet. That's pretty good for a gun with no rear sight and my old eyes. 65 grains might be a tad stiff I think.

You should watch "The Patriot" for pointers. 'Ol Tarylton there (the bad guy), he's picking guys of galloping horses at 150 yards with his smooth pistol from horseback. Didn't miss once in the whole movie!

Maybe ye gotta start by throwin yer rammer away every shot like he done.

Blanks, or no blanks, anybody unloads a 62 cal. pistol in my direction is going to see me DROP!

reb thanks for the offer i gess i will try cuting down on powder and try the balls again i just used equil mesures of powder and buck shot and worked good same load as in my 62 smooth rifle that is the companion gun to the pistol and shoots 1 hole at 25 and has taken maney tree rats here is a pic of the long gun
