Ray Saloomy sent out an e-mail informing everyone that the world famous biathlon is done. :(
We had a ton of fun over the years and I will sure miss it. I have met a lot of people and made some lasting friendships.
Thanks to Ray and his crew for running this event for so long, well done my friend!

I am sure am glad that I made it to one. It was great fun and was hoping to do it again. I thought it was a well run event and plenty of shooters.
Sorry to hear of its demise.

He left the door open somewhat ... in that some group or other locale was considering taking it on, but apparently there must have been some kind of fallout (my interpretation of what was stated) with the local chamber of commerce that had helped support the event/weekend, as the biathlon was just one of many events in that area on that weekend.

Regardless, Ray is an awesome individual and should be acknowledged for his contributions to the muzzleloading sport!

Heard the news and talked with Ray at the VT. Territorial in Morrisville last weekend, biathlon was a highlight for New England in the winter and Ray put in many hours of work not only for the biathlon, but for the Vt. Territorial shoot, he is a great friend of the muzzleloading community! :hatsoff:
