SOLD SOLD H&A Minuteman .45 Percussion

SOLD Hopkins and Allen MINUTEMAN .45 percussion rifle. The 39" barrel has a patina finish (no rust) and a Very Good bore. The stock is in overall Good Plus condition, with a couple of exceptions. First, there is a poorly, but solid, repaired crack at toe. Probably could be made better. Second, there is a crack running from back of tang to sideplate screw, probably from over tightening. This is a very easy repair, but rather pass on as is for good price. It is also missing all six escutcheon plates for barrel pins. Numrich has replacements for $3 ea or upgrade with more bling. A very functional and reportedly accurate rifle. Includes 42 round balls.$275+Shipping. Don't make me have to refurbish this.

Can you tell me a little bit more about what the H&A Minuteman is? Is it a swamped or straight barrel? Is it built by Hopkins and Allen, or is it a Spanish or Turkish, or other import? Does this have deeper rifling in it, and what is the twist rate?

Here is a thread on the subject on this very forum. Indicates that the barrels were likely made in USA. Straight barrel. I will get the rifling and twist info. later.

All things point to an H&A US built rifle. Straight taper barrel. Rifling no deeper than other repros. Twist appears to be 1:77", best I can calculate.

So this has .004"-.005" deep button rifling? Any chance I can get you to take caliper measurements for a rough guestimate?
