Dixie Gun Works .50 cal Tennessee Mountain Rifle. Dixie had these made by Miroku in Japan in the 1980s and early 90s. They were probably the most authentic factory made long rifle produced. This is an early example with a 300s serial number with a 7/8 inch octagon barrel. Later production rifles used a heavier 15/16 barrel which really screwed up the balance. I think the stock is walnut. The bores in in excellent shape. I think it has been handled more than shot. There are few knicks and dings on the stock. The rammer is brown fiberglass. Sparks good. Asking $725, plus actual postage.

I forgot to mention, this also comes with a drum/Nipple and pecussion lock plate from Dixie, if you want to convert it to percussion.

I believe these came with cherry stocks.
.
The first run Miroku rifles have walnut stocks and 7/8 inch barrels. The narrow barrel and more slender stock gives much better balance than later rifles. The stock dimensions and heel drop are also different from later production pieces. This rifle has a 7/8 barrel. The stock does appear to be cherry from the images... it may have been stained.
