As a complete and doe-eyed newbie, I went thru a phase of purchasing muzzleloader rifles and pistols with hopes of learning and enjoying the hobby. Unfortunately, I never got around to shooting any of them. I simply don't have the time, so I've decided to offer them for sale to a new home.

Next up is this classic Thompson / Center Hawken Rifle (Percussion). Earlier model with 5-digit serial number. (The early 5-digit serial number was an important selling feature by the previous owner, so I assume that it's a good thing.) 50 Caliber. Comes with aperture peep sight assembly and custom leather sling which reads, "Hawkin 50." Minor marks here or there. Overall very good condition. $500 $450

Payment options are very flexible, including cash if face-to-face in the upstate SC area.

Free shipping from my FFL (City Arsenal in Greenville, SC) to your home.

Please feel free to ask questions. Happiness guaranteed.

LMAO I never noticed that! LMAO Well played, original owner and custom strap maker. Well played.

EDIT: [Waving my hand ever so slightly in classic Obi-Wan fashion] There is no misspelling here. Hawken is spelled with an "I." Move along.

Tang sight adds some extra value, those are hard to find

UPDATE: Since I know very little about tang and/or peep sights, I'm posting some quick front porch photos to help answer any questions you may have. Please let me know if additional photos are required.

(Obviously, the tang sight pictured could use a good cleaning, and I'll leave that to the new owner.)

Unfortunately, I don't own a bore scope, so I can't really tell if it's rusty inside. However, I did twist a clean white paper towel a full 3" deep into the bore, and it came out spotless, so I would imagine that the last owner cleaned it well after the last outing. (See attached pics.)

Since I'm uncertain about the rust question, I'm happy to offer the same "happiness guarantee" that I've offered on all my sales (ebay, forums, etc) over the last 20+ years — If you're not happy with your item, then I'll refund your full purchase price as well as pay for the return shipping. Easy peasy. :)

I'll contact you via PM to see if you're still interested.

Thanks, BIGBEAR.
