I recieved my Mold for my 220gr. .456 Lee Conical bullets for my Pietta '58 with it's 5-1/2" barrel "ordered it since I had reamed the chambers to .451 no too long ago" & last night I made 125 bullets from it.

Each bullet that passed my inspection weighed 220.0 - 220.6 grains & measuring them I found something interesting.

First ring that is inserted into the chamber = .4485
Second ring ........................................ = .4500
Third Ring ........................................... = .4555

I knew that the first ring was slightly smaller to help in loading but I didn't know that the second was as well, & they are real easy to load into the chambers of my Remington Copy.

Each Bullet was roll lubed with Lee Liquid Alox & when loaded into the chambers a touch of Bore Butter over the bullet for extra lubing.

Any one have an idea what kind of performance I may get out of this with 35gr. FFFG Goex?

I have a Pietta '58, and I shoot the Lee slugs in it also. that's a stout load, it may not group as tight as say around 25 grs. would. I use a 7.62X39 case as a measure for mine(about 32 grs) which leaves room for a felt. a little more powder would fit with a good squeeze on the ram.
you'll be surprised how powerful that load is.
where did you get the reamer you used on the chambers - sounds like a good idea.

I bought my Custom Reamer from Manson Reamers, it took just under 3 weeks from me sending one of my cylinders, a note of what I had in measurements & what I needed, & a check for $80.00 to it coming to my door.

My Pietta '58 is almost a year old & I've never gotten the best groups with it & after talking to Rifle on The High Road & slugging the barrel & then the chambers I found that it had these measurements..

Lands = .4400
Groves = .4495
Chambers = .4460 - .4465

I bought a Reamer that was .4510 with a Pilot of .4460 & only be 1/2" deep.
After Reaming the chambers I can load 28gr. of FFFG Goex into the chambers & then a .457 Ball without any fillers & the ball just miss the orriginal unreamed area of the chambers.

It has improved it's grouping greatly at 25 yards & I though to try some heavy bullets.
