Does anyone have any suggestions on the source for a small L/H flintlock.About 4 3/4" by 15/16". Thank you, FRJ

If you run across a listing for a used small Cochran lock, they're 4 1/2 x around 15/16" and came L/H. I have picked up a couple in the last year for projects, and they're absolutely dandy. Replacement parts would be problematic if you needed them, but from all indications and all I've heard that's pretty academic with Cochrans.

The John Bailes lock, also called the small Manton, baby Durs Egg, or small English flint lock, from TOW (made by L&R) is available in left-hand. It measures 0.86" x 4.7", see below.

I have one on a custom 40cal Bedford and it sure is a dandy lock!

Yes, they are a nice looking little lock. If I had my heart set on using one, I suggest you go someplace that has allot of them and Hand Pick the lock. A friend & I went thru 15 of them at the CLA show trying to find Just One that was put together correctly & worked properly. He finally settled on one that was halfway decent..... Most had multiple issues with them & it amazed me they still assemble so many so poorly....

Or at least find a lock smith to go over the lock and make sure it functions properly. Thats what I did when one was used on a custom build of mine. I have no complaints at all with this little lock now...
