morning all, just realized I am running low on RB patch material. I sure would love to find an reliable online source for it... anybody get it online? Local fabric store is over 600 miles away, and I forgot to buy on last trip to city...

Somebody have a good link?

My experience with ticking comes down to Hobby Lobby. Thickness is dependent on the color, blue is the thinnest followed by tan then red as the heaviest. There are many ticking materials that are actually not ticking at all, which with JF I'd be cautious buying it online unless I could see it, they have numerous "imposters" that are actually faux striping on thin cotton, yet they do have the real deal as well just may get a little more confusing. All my ticking comes from HL which is 100% true ticking, never came across anything fake from them. Outside those three colors I'm not sure what their weight is since I have only ever used blue, tan and red.

Blue is what you want, my last yard came in at .13

Also check Wally world, I got lucky and found a bolt on clearance, 100% blue ticking.

Mine comes from Walmart and has been very consistent at measuring .015" thick before washing. A partial bolt of denim I have had in dry storage for more than 40 years measures only about .018" before washing by comparison. Do try to measure so you know what you have. A ratchet type micrometer gives the most consistent readings.

My local Joann's has been good, the blue I bought measured .018 off the bolt, .010 compressed after washing twice and air drying

I have bought from the possibles shop before, just not patch material. I will check them out. I am not out of patch material, but realized on have less then a yard left, so I will use the possible shop as I trust them. Thanks so much for the tips...

What thickness do you use. The bed ticking I got from Joann in Jackson Tn was 17-18 depending on how the calipers closed. Also how many yards were you looking for.

Check eBay, just know what you want and ask questions before you buy. Some sellers will actually mic it for you and are honest enough to tell in thier ad if it’s 100 percent cotton or not. I’ve got some from there and have had great success.

I was at my local Walmart yesterday. They had red, green, and blue 100% cotton ticking, 60" wide, for $5.99 yard, regular price.
