Try DixieHello,
I have a spanish made flintlock rifle. I need a sear spring for it, but I can't find one online that matches what I need. Any good sources?
I'm not sure. The only marking on it is "Spain" on the barrel. Is it a production gun, such as CVA, traditions, jukar, ardessa, dikar? Many of them share the same lock and parts should be available.
Yes that looks like it.Does the lock look like this one?
Traditions part 70506, $3 at the gun works.Yes that looks like it.
Good man.Traditions part 70506, $3 at the gun works.
Order has been placed. Thanks so much!!Traditions part 70506, $3 at the gun works.
Can you provide any details how to do that?I've made them from old hacksaw blades, work fine.
They are pretty much self explanatory. I start out by putting a section of blade in vise jaws, and filing the tab. Then make the screw loop, shape the fore part, heat and bend. They generally have enough spring to them to work without any special treatment of heat, as their job isn't very demanding. Most commercial sear springs are much stronger than necessary. Can you provide any details how to do that?
There have to be a few dozen completed threads with plenty of pictures archived here. Search for "make spring" and you'll have hours of info to read. Can you provide any details how to do that?
