Up for your consideration I have a southern mountain rifle in a 45 caliber. It has a colrain 1-66 twist round bottom groove. L&R Manton percussion lock, davis set triggers and mostly hand forged furniture, including a lollipop tang. the maple stock is mostly plain with little to no figure. It has Tom Knight on the barrel, but it has been restocked since then. It has a sling from the leather man, the sling mount in the forestock goes through a barrel wedge, the mount in the buttstock is screwed in... both mounts are done correctly and are solid.
this rifle is a tack driver and has been well cleaned and preserved. It does have some light handling marks from use. 1000$ or make offer.. no trades please Need any more photos let me know.. thanks for looking!

You guys are killing me! Ok... another reduction in price... I need to sell this to pay for another build...750$ is the new price. If I do t sell it in a week I’ll most likely keep it and sell an unmentionable. Thanks for looking! Kary

What does the rifle like to shoot? What is the zero range? And how much does it drop at 100 yards? I'm wanting to get a new Pedersoli 36 or 32 Pennsylvania, but maybe considering this one.

I can’t tell you the drop and ballistics. I can tell you it shoots pretty well offhand at 50 yrds with well lubed ( beeswax and olive oil or sometimes just plain olive oil) pillow ticking for a patch. ( .016) a 440 roundball and between 60 and 70 grains of powder. This is my hunting rifle, so minute of deer is prefect for me. It’s a colrain round bottom grooved barrel, 1-66 twist and a fast manton L&R lock. As long as I do my part this rifle can ring a 6” gong at 50 yards off hand, 9out of 10 times. Off a rest, with that very same load, I can ring a 3” gong 10 out of 10 times. I have killed deer with it at 70 yards off hand. That’s the best ballistics I can give you. Thanks for looking
