chronas,
I know there is some outstanding hunting
in the Xiena area of SW Ohio. I personally hunt the SE
part of the state and have done so for the last 25/30
years.( Logan, Athens & Mcarthur areas) When i started
out it was because there was so much public hunting in
that part of the state....But over the years i have made
many a friend while hunting, eating and drinking in that
part of the state and now have access to a lot of prime
private land.
My suggestion would be to run thru some of the
very, very small towns. Eat in their dinner, have a
beer in one of their bars, and listen...Bring up deer
season only when deer are out of season. They could be
telling you something then.
In the SE part of the State deer season is
similar to a roundup for some(not most) of the locals.
There have been times i have never seen another
hunter for 3 days of hunting, except for my son and
grandson. We are usually succesful with our deer harvest!
I have to tell you if we never harvested a deer
it would still be a successful hunt(father-son-grandson)
in the woods together!
Oh, it was a success!!!!!
snake-eyes :hmm:
