I'm expecting these pistols very soon, seller says they are made in Spain marked....also marked 10,7...Black Powder-C .12 M/M

I would like to fire these pistols but need to know what ammo to get for them, I'm thinking just Patched round ball (Size to be determined) but would also like to know a recommended powder charge. Is FF ok? (I have plenty of it available) or is another granulation recommended? Also patch thickness?

Thanks guys

12mm is about 45 cal. Try a .440 or .433 diameter ball with .010 patch and see what loads best. Two f powder will work fine but pistols usually shoot fff powder. They look like nice little pistols.

That 10,7 may be the European way of saying 10.7 mm bore size or .4212 caliber.

Each of the guns may have different size bores.

According to Google,

12 millimeters = 0.472440945 inches

and

10.7 millimeters = 0.421259843 inches

This .40 caliber casing goes in and out of the barrel almost perfectly. I really would like to try shooting it but not sure on the ammo size can anyone help me out here. I don't wanna order the wrong thing. Is the round ball is supposed to fit tightly?

The single shot pistol is usually ment to shoot a "Patched Round Ball".
A 40 S&W case has an outside dimention of .424-.423; http://stevespages.com/jpg/cd40smithandwesson.jpg

I would try a ball size of .410 with a .015-.020 thickness patch. You didn't say if thay are smooth or rifled,
the fabric "crushes" to impart the rifling into the soft lead ball, or creates the gas seal for the barrel in a smoothy.
Ball of that size are available on the bottom of this linked page; http://www.trackofthewolf.com/List/Item.aspx/127/1

Thank you. These are smoothbore pistols and there are no muzzleloader supplies local to me at all so I'll place an order with track of the wolf today.

Try a .395 diameter ball with a .015 or .018 patch. The balls in that diameter are still commercially available last time I checked.
