Does anyone know if a Pedersoli 1816 frizzen will fit an original lock? My original has a replacement frizzen fron either S&S or the Rifle Shoppe that is tough to keep hardened. I have a Pedersoli Mortimer that is a sparking fool and I thought perhaps I could get the same results out of one of their 1816 frizzens.

Thanks,

Duane

I'm not sure if you can by "parts" from Pedersoli. One shooting board was whining about that a year or so back, as I recall. You might have better luck buying one of Dixie's cast replicas and filing to fit and hardening yourself. Sorry I can't say for sure about the Pedersoli but some of their muskets aren't made from original molds but are just "close" to the real thing.

Duane, I contacted Pedersoli to see if they will sell the 1816 frizzen, I will post my reply as soon as they contact me...

Thanks Sire Moderator, that's a good one to know. Looks like the purchase of the whole lock for the M.1816 is the only choice unless they'll break down for individual parts. Still.... :RO:

Off of the Pedersoli web page I did find this:

Well, I should'a looked in the DGW catalog first! Right there on page 145 under "DIXIE M1816 U.S. MUSKET"..."Parts For Italian Made Reproduction-FR0305" is the parts list for the Pedersoli M.1816. The Frizzen #FP6103---$29.95!! Looks like they have all parts listed except the barrel and stock. Good luck! :youcrazy:
