I was wondering what was the general color of rifles produced in the York County area of Pennsylvania during the late 1700's early 1800's. My research has indicated that Lehigh Valley rifles had a reddish tint to them. I have purchased LMF Lancaster Maple stain which is advertised as being a color used on colonial Lancaster County guns which is very brown in color. As of yet, I cannot find anything on York County rifles.
