Did a search here but didn't find anything on these. What's the story with them? Seen them used for pretty cheap prices. Just not a good gun design to begin with or are the clones defective?

Looked at these my self. Neat looking gun but reviews of Pietta repros have been negative overall. Originals were good guns but the clones haven't measured up. They are pricey new as well.

They definately look just like the originals right down to original markings. Of course Pietta then kills the effect by stacking on their own literature abut using black powder and fillipietta etc.

an army officer during the Civil War remarked that the person who had foisted this revolver off on the republic should be hanged as a traitor. People who have bought the Pietta replica also start looking around for somebody to lynch. This post may shake somebody out who has had positive experience with either the double action or single action replicas but I haven't heard of any yet.

The one we have was donated in the form of a sack full of parts and the problems getting it to shoot at all are too numerous to list completely.The did include:
1. Ignition failure: The hammer would not reach the capped nipples:
2 trigger reset failure: the trigger return spring was too long;
3. Inadequate capping window- just about impossible to put caps on the cones.
