Stock finish question

Has anyone ever used aqua fortis over a mineral stain like pictured? How did it turn out? Pictures? I'm hesitant to purchase this stock because of it but it's available NOW as opposed to waiting 8 weeks.

I’ve never got good results with Aqua forte but it looks like there is plenty of wood to sand there and tge mineral oil won’t go very deep
