This was posted in one of the yahoo groups and someone suggested through email that I post it here. Forgive me if it's out of place but we're hoping by spreading the word we can help out this friend. We have reason to believe these guns may be on the way to the Lawrence Co, Ohio area.

A reenacting friend has had his home broken into and has lost around 50 guns, many of them old, having belonged to his ancestors, and considered antique. I know little about these but could you pass this along to anyone you think
might have contact with anyone trading or selling guns so we can be on the lookout? Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks Claude

And Bryan, so far he's heard nothing but he did ask to pass along his thanks to everyone who was given this attention. It truly sucks, especially since at least one of those guns belonged to his great gandfather, Devil Anse Hatfield.

Hello Brenda,

I'm also posting for Grizz I noticed my list has some more serial numbers so I'll post it here Grizz is digging up the serial numbers as he can..

Everyone Please Keep Your
Eyes and Ears Open and
Help Recover Some Stolen Guns.

Phillip "Grizz" Hatfield was at an encampment at Carter Caves over the last week. Some low life dirty scoundrels broke into his home and stole most every gun he owned. They must have known he was not coming home as they took the time to break into his vaults and clean him out. If you will, please print this list out and keep your eyes open for any of them.

Grizz is a direct descendent of "Devil" Anse Hatfield from the famous "Hatfield and McCoy Feud" Some of the guns stolen could never be replaced EVER! If you know any local gun dealers or pawn shops owners take them the list of stolen merchandise. ANY and ALL help will be appreciated more than you could ever know!
Chuck

Brenda
sorry for the loss

Never hurts to bring up old threads like this, never know someone may have acquired one of the listed guns. It's a shame they didn't have more serial numbers. On my guns without a serial number I always add an OAN (owner applied number) usually under the butt plate or barrel channel.
Personally I think threads like this need to be pinned to stay on top.
