Ron, a friend of mine, got a stone head in a trade. He gave it to me early last spring and asked me to haft it for him. Remodeling the house took top priority and I forgot about it. I found it in my shop about a month ago and went down to the river and cut a piece of river willow to for the haft. I split the willow for the first about 10 inches, then thinned it and wrapped it around the head. I let it dry for a couple of weeks and last weekend, sealed it up with cutler's resin and sewed antelope hide to cover the entire club. A little simple beadwork in the early Sioux style, made a few tinklers out of brass with buffalo hair glued in and the project was finished. I am pleased with the way it turned out. I feel bad that it took so long to complete, so I am just going to make it a gift to a friend. Just wanted to share with this group!

That rocks Dave. I got a few stone clubs on tap, I use buffalo rawhide, it's hard as steel, but antelope, elk, deer, work just fine. Bravo!
