i took a piece of the baseball bat and ran a deck screw into it and ground the head off it so i can chuck it in my hand drill and bent the screw so it spins true in my drill....then i spin the drill againest the grinder as it spins, while i move the drill around i can sand the spinning wood to any profile i need....once i git close to what i need i wittle the rest by hand....later today i'll git my girl to take a video of what i'm talking bout....then ya will know why my nickname my friends gave me is "Mcgyver" i can do so much wit so little that now i'm exspected to do anything wit nuttin :rotf: :v ...............bob

i had the strap made by wilde weavery fer 32.00 bucks with shipping, with the colors i wanted too....45" and i had them leave 12" of string at each end fer doing want i wanted to do....

then i had to pour over website after website and books from the library to learn how to do macrame' again since i haven't done any after 7th grade back in 1976....it just a matter of tying knots in a pattern....my next strap i'm going to tye myself with beads and macrame' :v ...............bob

Bob like everyone else I think ya did beautiful work on the strap. Only I have one question for ya to think on, are ya going to actually use this horn out in the field or just on the gun range? Reason I'm asking is out in the field all them little hanging down strings n such are gonna get tangled up in the briars, burrdock n all the other stick to ya things out there, trying to pull the horn off yer shoulder. If yer gonna use it for hunting ya may consider making another plain one so ya can switch back n forth n keep that fancy one for Sunday go ta meeten type stuff. I more or less found out the hard way from useing my gear in the field that the less fringe n strings n the like ya got hanging off yer gear the less frustrated you end up by the end of the day from constently fighting to keep it all on yer person where ya want it to be n not digging it out of some dang sticker bush etc. Just some thoughts from an ol woods runner YMHS Birdman

birdman....oh yeah i've thought bout that....i'm going to tie them off and end them at the last bead knot....

here's that video of my bench sander i posted bout earlier :v ................bob
