This is a really stunning .50 Hawken built by well known California builder Robert D Reeves (deceased). It has a heavy browned 32"x1.075" W.M.(Bill) LARGE marked barrel. The top of barrel has Robert D Reeves No. 48 1972 engraved on it. Underside has what I assume is Mr. Large's inventory number. Twist rate is 1:66. Bright, sharp bore. The lock is a Bob Roller. Looks like the Trifecta for builder and components! The stock is beautifully figured Maple that lumineses green and gold as you turn it in the light. LOP is 14 1/8". The double set triggers are likely also made by Bob Roller, as he often sold locks and triggers in sets. Hardware is browned steel. Pewter endcap. I found an article in the June 1973 issue of Muzzle Blasts about Mr. Reeves building a Hawken rifle for a descendant of S and J Hawken. And while this is not that rifle, it does speak to the builder's workmanship. A copy of this edition is included with rifle. $2100 + Shipping.
