I have always wondered if putting a little bit of ballistol on it would help? With the friction maybe? I have considered trying it on one of my wooden cleaning rods, but now that I have nicer ones with muzzle guards I haven't gotten around to fiddling with it.Water wears away mountains, so no doubt. Your finest chisel gets dull cutting wood. However, I bet not in your lifetime.
