YUP! This is it.
I carry a tin of Stumpy's Moose Snot in my shooting bag. It doesn't melt in the hot summer heat and doesn't freeze in sub-zero temperatures, and it allows me to keep on shooting without wiping between shots in all temperatures. It has a consistency similar to shoe polish and is easy to use. I just rub one side of my patching material on it until I feel it leech through to the other side, start the ball, and cut the patch at the muzzle. If loading is a little stiff, just use a little more on the next load and loading will go smoothly again.
Great Stuff Stumpy!
