An e-mail from an English cousin mentioned that she had to be home on Sunday, as "it's the 60th anniversary of V-E Day, and our town is going to have a big parade..." that struck me...I've been in England, London and elsewhere on a number of Nov.11th's and the moment of silence, and the reverence is striking. I'm going ot fly Old Glory on Sunday, but I wonder how many others will do anything...or even know that the date is important...Hank

We keep a 3'x5' flag on the front porch year round

Seems like the 'curent generation' has forgotten that period of time or the importance of it.

Maybe we should start a trend....ya know....send out some 'Happy V-E Day' cards.....if it's made into another reason to send flowers, send cards or take a day off of work people may take notice.

Sorry...the above statement is :bull:.

I did send out an email to a couple of dozen co-workers on Friday regarding the anniversary. I'll be at work tomorrow as well; so I'll be certain to mention it to those who are equally unfortunate to be working on a Sunday.

Sorry, Blahman, that's the best I can do, Walmart was out of V-E Daycards when I got there. Unfortunately they were also pretty limited in their selection of Mother's Day cards.
