Now most of you know I have a Loyalist Arms french tulle in .62cal, does anyone make a .32cal barrel I can swap out with it for small game hunting such as rabbit, squirrel, duck, and pheasant. Or do I need to buy another flintlock in .32cal? (Buying another flintlock is the easyest solution and I really don't have a problem with it cause you can never have enough flints around the house  IMHO, just getting the wife to okay the purchase is another thing.)

I'm not sure if someone would have another barrel or not but if they did it would be really heavy. You are going to have a lot more barrel there going from a 62 to a 32.

I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it or not to go from a heavy .45 to a .50 just to lighten the rifle.

Anything can be done . . . for the right price. But converting an Indian Tulle to a rifle would be way out there.

This may seem like an obvious question but why not load shot in your smoothie for small game hunting?

A load of #5's would make short work of the critters you mentioned.

A .62 Tullie with a .32 barrel might make short work out of you - a heart attack from dragging what I would guess to a VERY heavy gun through the woods.

To give yourself an idea of what you are getting yourself in for. Find a 44" piece of 1/2" RE-bar and slide down the bore of your Tullie and see if it handles the way you want.

I know it is not a flinter, but in the world of the .32 you owe it to your self to take a look at the Crockett.

You can get one for about $250 and they are an absolute hoot to shoot.

I realize it is not a flinter and is the only cap gun I own. I keep thinking that I need to build a 32 flinter, but the reality is I would need to buy $600 in parts to replace a $300 gun that I really like any way - So why bother.

I would think you would have more than that in a new BBL for the Tullie.

I am 6'3" 240 lbs, my significant other is 5'3" at around 100 lbs and the Crockett fits both of us.

As they told Mikeee "Try it you will like it "!!!

Welcome to our sport, make smoke and have fun.

Yeah, i'll go with shot. BTW, I'm 6'4" and 235 also, I'm going to go ahead and buy the Cabela's Blue Ridge Flinter in .32 for my son (that's my excuse for the wife  ) and if I want the smaller caliber then I can use his. But shot sounds like the best option. And the Crockett is an excellent weapon but I gotta have a flinter.

My favorite rabbit gun is my smoothbore flinter. It's an absolute delight to small game hunt with.

I'd try loading your Tulle with shot. It opens up an entirely new doorway into muzzleloading.

Beouwolf,
I have a switch barrel yeager now for ten years, and I can tell you that I get tired of switching barrels. Am contemplating using the smooth barrel for a new flinter.
