I own an 1850s/60s era percussion sxs shotgun in 12 gauge. Though the undersides
Are marked 1 bore 13. One 14... I used 12 gauge fiber wads and cards... The barrels are marked " london twist" 31.5" long the stock is made of beechwood...the ramrod is orig hickory. I will
Post a few pictures of it and the proofs. If anyone can shed more light on it.. Cannot find much on this maker...however was told the barrels were made by B Woodward & Sons London" the BW&S marking. I did read up on that maker...very well known maker in London of quality guns...but im uncertain as why Hopkins name on locks and that name under barrels? Maybe a guild gun???? Or a collaborative build between 2 gunsmiths.. The gun shoots very well..i since bought a pedersoli upland percussion 12g and dont shoot this alot anymore..but occasionally i do.
