T/C barrels

Can anyone tell me why T/C made barrels that are 1" and .937" across the flats?

The 1" barrels are for the larger bore hole for .54/.58cals to still allow good wall thickness...and fit the large size Hawken and Renegade stocks;

The .937" (15/16") barrels are for the smaller bore hole .45/.50cals and still leaves basically the same wall thickness and fit the smaller (regular) size Hawken stocks;
