Getting back into ML . Found good loads for all my other BP rifles. But, This .45XR . The only load it LOVES are Saboted .40 caliber on top of 80-90 gr 3F or equivalent powder. I live in Colorado and cant use a sabot . Maybe you guys can help me. Is there any cast bullets that will work through this rifle ? Shoots those sabots so good, I've even casted .40 dead soft lead/w sabot and they shoot good. But if a Game Warden said fire that round he would find a sabot 20 yards from the barrel. I'm not taking that chance. If not, its relegated to getting sold; which is unfortunate because it shoots these loads awesome! Its only problem is that its not legal to hunt with in CO.

As was said, this forum is for the old fashioned traditional muzzleloaders like the guns made prior to 1866.

Our sister forum, Modern Muzzleloaders is set up to talk about the new style in-line muzzleloaders. I'm sure dozens of people there will know the answers to your questions.

Here's a link to the Modern Muzzleloaders forum.

Sticking with RB's for now. My Dad was an avid Black Powder shooter. Growing up as a kid that was 80% of our shooting and hunting. My REAL 50 cal mold shoots great out of my FireHawk. sure it would do fine in this Ivestarms. This is my first Italian made gun, if shoots as nice as it looks I should be happy with it.
