Hello from Germany!

Does anyone know if the T/C drop in barrels will fit the Traditions/Ardesa Hawken Woodsman rifle?
If so it wil be a good chance to "pimp up" our .45 Hawkens which are available in great numbers.

Regards

Kirrmeister

I can't say for sure Kirrmeister, but I doubt it. They will fit the Italian made T/C clones such as produced by Investarm and marketed here by Lyman and Cabelas because they are a very close copy of the T/C. But I think the Ardesa guns use a different breech plug arrangement.
It may be a moot point since the rumor mill has it that Green Mountain will no longer produce the drop-ins. It is not difficult for any gunsmith or careful home tinkerer to fit a new barrel to any common muzzleloader. I've done a bunch of them for myself and for friends and generally it is about 4-6 hours work, not counting time spent on browning the barrel which is mostly just waiting for it to happen. In every case the Green Mountain barrel was much more accurate than the T/C or Traditions barrel it replaced.
