I'm thinking about buying a P A hunter to get started with a flintlock . I would appreciate any good or bad comments about this rifle. Thanks . :)

i have one and have killed withit it`s a solid peice of metal and wood .1 in 66 twist never had a problem with it that i can think of . i could never get more than 80 yards out of it believe me i have tried but ill tell you hit the deer in the lungs if you hit it in the leg your gonna have a long tracking experience

suggest you also look at the Lyman "deerstalker" a great value for the price...Hank

Another of their models, the TC Hawken is an excellent choice and at least stirs the imagination of something that might have a bit of traditional look & feel to it...if you're going to order a new one, it's only $10 more to specify TC's 32" x 1:66" round ball barrel...

Hey Ages of Days,
In your signature, is that a quote or are you making a claim? Not trying to start anything here, just genuinely curious.
God bless. Volatpluvia.

I've had one for 9 years, a present from my wife. A very good shooter and a fine rifle. It even showed up a center fire rifle at the range one day with it. A couple of guys were making fun of the "lead thrower" and after a few shoots They packed up thier stuff and went home early. ::
