Regarding the breaking of T/C Patriot stocks:
Where do they crack?
Does anybody have any ideas why this happens?
I have shot over 1300 rounds in mine so far, mostly 20 grains each, and am getting concerned.

The stocks crack due to a design FLAW: not enough "meat" where the rubber meets the road!

But fear not, as long as you stay at 20 grains, you should be O-K, especially if you have 1,300 shots through it at this point!

These guns are still great shooters, and still command a good sum, although they aren't made any more. At the first sign of a hair-line crack, a stock repair will be inevitable. A good stock job from someone who KNOWS wood will be hard to detect, but it sounds like you're not any where near that at this point, since you've taken care of it and aren't trying to turn the thing into a magnum hand gun!

So don't borrow trouble :idunno:

Some of the cracks have been caused by people over tightening the lock bolt, or heavy charges. Other ways to crack the stock is to place the edge of stock butt on a hard surface when loading the pistol.

I hold my pistol in my hand during loading. The stock doesn't touch anything. I keep the charges no more than 25 gr 3FG. I just snug up the lock bolt. So far no problems with my stock.
