I picked up an obsolete T/C rear tang sight. The style that resembles the soule sights on the Sharps. Anyway, the hole in the peep is really small and not suitable for hunting. I was thinking about replacing it with a Merit rear sight that adjusts.

My question. Anyone happen to know the thread size on this sight? Thanks.

Do you mean the hole in the aperture is too small? Also, does your aperture unscrew? I use the T/C Tang Peep sights (current style). Williams apertures, screw right in, in place of the standard T/C aperture.

Yes the exit hole on the peep is too small. The appeture with the small exit hole is what I'm reffering to. It's about a 3/4" disc like the Sharps have. I have the Williams peeps but they are too large.

I was hoping to get something like this but I'm not sure what the thread size it.

I can't really measure it right now at it is with John Taylor who is working on my gun.

One again BS you've come through. Your T/C looks like the one I sent down to John. In the Brownell's catalog and web sight it says,

Precision sight receiver discs with 10, click-adjustable iris settings (.022" to .125" dia.) let shooters match peep sight aperture to light conditions. Internal spring eliminates face wobble. Fits most Redfield, Lyman and Williams receiver sights. Others fit Browning factory and Montana Vintage Armory tang sights.

SPECS: Steel. ¾" (19mm) diameter x ¼" (6.3mm) thick disc. No. 3LS - 7/32" (5.6mm) - 40 thread on 5/16" (7.9mm) long shank. Browning 1885 - 10-32 thread shank fits Browning factory tang sights. Montana Vintage - 10-40 thread shank fits Montana Vintage Armory tang sights. Master Disc - Features 1½" (3.8cm) diameter flexible, neoprene light shield and a steel cup that completely shades the opening.

Catalog page 327

So if your correct, I'll need to buy the one that fits the browning.
