A friend of mine is thinking of buying a T/C Renegade, I was just wondering what the style rifle twist ect, is for this rifle, and any feed back from anyone who owns one . Thanks F.K.

Standard twist rate fir the T/C Renegade is 1-48". It will shoot very well with the Hornady Great Plains Bullet or a .530 PB and .015 parch,
The Renegade is a very fine Rifle.

I've got two. Well made and very reliable. Standard twist is 1-48 but I think you can special order a 1-66 RB barrel too (Fox ridge outfitters, e.g. TC custom shop). Share much of the same hardware as TCs hawkens except trim is not brass. Stocks are a little bulky and I wish they had longer lenght of pull and a bit more drop.

GM IBS barrels also fit so there is another option for fast/slow twist barrels.

TCs warrantee warrantee/policy (lifetime no questions asked) beats anybody else too

I had one and found it to be too short from the trigger to the buttplate for me. The stock is also very straight. Accuracy was pretty good. It is a fine intro gun or good for someone wanting to hunt deer from a box stand. My brother has mine now for just this purpose.

I see few of these winning serious shooting matches, but it got me started into MLing and I have a warm feeling for them for that reason..

My friend bought it last night. This is his first ML and I'm proud to say I brought him into the fold. I have a few more on the line just need to reel them in. Thanks for the feed back F.K.

I agree,
My Rennegade is what got me into muzzleloading.I shot that thing for years.Won shoots and got Deer with it.My kids use it now.
Only fault I can find with it is that the stock is too short and has not enough turn in it.I'm a knuckle Dragger and the gun used to smash my cheek bone all to heck! Not uncommon for me to get some Black and Blue after a long day of shooting....you'd have thought I'd have smartened up and got a longer stock or another longrifle sooner than I did. :shake:

A stock with not enough length of pull can be corrected by puttin' one of the slip on recoil pads on, like I did. When somebody remarks about it, I just tell 'em I'm a sissy. :surrender:

I have added recoil pads for young shooters and cut stocks off for them. But my solution for my shooting needs was to get full stock guns that fit me. It was just part of moving to the next level. I still like my old T/Cs, but I recognize their limitations and either avoid them or work around them.
