I have done a little research on the fullstock replacements for my hawken.. I realize that nothing is turn key but just how much finishing and cutting are needed and does anyone have any photos of before and after.
Take care, ugly snake

maple stock update.........

maple stock....before and after....it's done ! ! !

I orderd one and it was a little more that I had expected.

1) Back of stock was about 4" too long. Had to cut stock and fit and inlet buttplate

2) Tang inlet was maybe 75%

3) The holes for the lock / tang / lock / trigger guard were not drilled completely through the stock.

4) The forearm where the cap goes on the hawken was also unfinished. This gave me the biggest bit of trouble...remember a Renegade had no nosecap...just wood. The replacement stock had to be cut and shaped.

IT IS BY NO MEANS A DROP IN / SAND / FINISH PROJECT.

You will be cutting, inletting, drilling, filing, sanding, finishing, etc.
