Has anyone been to the new T/C Website. They no longer list the Renegade and there isn't a quick link to Fox Ridge Outfitters Custom Shop.

If you click on links at the top of the page, Fox Ridge is listed.

Yes. I found them. I was drawing attention to the fact that T/C apparantly droped the Renegade and the fact that the Custom Shop link just takes you to Inlines and Encores, with nothing for Traditional Firearms.

I about puked when I followed one of the other links, Jim Shockley............one of the "Pro Hunters"........

They also have a new flintlock designed to fire "3 pryodex pellets".........and you guys have been telling me pyrodex won't work in a flinter.......

I'll hunt around on ebay for "vintage" TC products...........

They discontinued every other traditional style muzzleloader they used to make but held the line with the Renegade & Hawken still in their catalog for the past few years...now the Renegade is out of production. Really a shame to see the premier mass production ML company that did so much to rejuvenate basic muzzleloading in the US is just about out of the traditional line altogether...CVA already stopped, A-H recently stopped...who's left/who's next.

With buying, selling, upgrading TC Hawken caplocks over the years, picking up a few Hawken 'Cougars' along the way...then getting into Flintlock rifles and smoothbores, I began to feel a little self conscious at the number I'd gradually accumulated so a couple months ago I began selling off some of them...only let 3 get away, and seeing how TC is about out of the traditional product line...think I'll hold on to what I've got for a while...might find that I need spare Hawken parts and get them :shake:

There's Lyman. If I needed a new hawken-style right now, I'd very likely go with them.

I meant who's going to be next to drop their traditionsal line altogether...

Hobbles, FWIW, you'll pay full MSRP at TC / Fox Ridge directly...suggest you buy it through a ML supplier...if it were me I'd just contact Ed Cain in West VA...800# on his website at www.CainsOutdoor.com ...pretty large TC/GM dealer...he might even have a good used one laying around

I think that's the way most manufacturers operate...they only sell at full MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) but suppliers buying at wholesale (60-70%) mark theirs up for some profit but usually well below MSRP.
GM is another example...$228 for a barrel direct from them, $180 or so from a ML supplier.

Like it or lump it we are the minority, when it comes to the muzzleloading world. :shake: Don't matter to me though cause i'm worse than the old fashioned snake oil peddler on his soapbox.I'll still be preachin the ol'fashioned ways for as long as I can.

If you really want strange, go to WalMart and pick up some of the Flint River products - they are TC products repackaged by TC and sold through Wallyworld for discount prices!

If someone really needs a renegade, I will be posting one on the classifieds as soon as I figure it all out...
