I'm waiting for this little beasty to arrive, mail strike has delayed it some. Difficult to find much, if any, information about it. Looks to be a handy little rifle. Any information appreciated. Cheers

A friend of mine has one in .54 that he has not used much, but wants to keep. I broke it down and cleaned it for him and it was a stout and well put together rifle. Pretty sure it's a 1/48 twist. He has shot it a bit with PRB and conicals and said it was quite accurate. He never had any problems with it and he doesn't know a lot about ML's.
Very handy timber rifle. Perfect for your island paradise. Enjoy ! SW

I picked up a White Mountain Flintlock barrel on ebay earlier this year because it was a Flintlock barrel :) Twist is 1:20 Originally for a friend who is misguided in his love for silly copper/plastic-based conicals to mount in a customized TC Hawken stock (factory second) I gave him. He never paid me for the barrel so I put it to use in one of the stocks I repaired and finished.

With 50 to 70 grains of 3F it shoots very good groups with a .490 ball and .015 Ox-Yoke patch. I need more time with it and think a .018 patch will be even better. The 60 grain load seems to be plenty with a ball. Easy to aim, easy on the recoil and nice to carry. Mounted in my modified Hawken stock, it weighs the same as my PA Hunter Carbine. The brass furniture moves the center of balance rear-ward but it shoulders well and aims exceptionally well.

I would surely buy one in percussion and troll auction sites constantly for the right gun at the right price. You did good and I bet you will be thrilled with her!

I have a .50 WMC that I thoroughly enjoy. I really only shoot PRB out of it and have been really happy with it. It doesn't see much use anymore because the short nature of the firearm puts my elbow at a bad angle when ramming a ball down and after a few shots, it feels like my elbow was used as the target 😬. I will take it hunting when the weather is too poor to trust a flintlock.

When I got mine, it came with a so so supply of T/C Maxi Hunters, and they excell in that fast twist. I bought a box of Great Plains bullets that I've yet to try in her. But if they shoot even close, I'll be happy. I can wear out a snuff can taped to the board at 50 yards. That's the rifle, not me😉
