I have an old TC "Hawken style" or plains rifle that I got quiet a few years ago. I have replaced the stock with a nice maple stock that has more drop to it. My desire is to make the rifle as historically correct as possible. Does anyone know what kind of fixed sights would be needed in order to achieve this? I have a buckhorn sight that could be used but would that be correct? I am searching historical information for this as well. Any help or links would be greatly appreciated.

the Gun Works Muzzleloading Emporium has a buckhorn rear sight for T/C guns that uses the factory sight holes and a variety of blade front sights to suit yer needs. I think maybe the Hawken Shoppe has them too. probably lots of others do too. luck & have a good'en, bubba.

and if ya like cuttin' dovetails, Track ot The Wolf has reproduction long blade rears 'sposedly copied from original hawken rifles.
