Has anyone found a good drop in shotgun barrel for a TC Hawken? It's such a good idea I guess I thought I'd be able to find a manufacturer with a warehouse full of them but I've come up empty. Any suggestions.

Green Mountain did at one time, don't believe they do any longer. I picked up a 62 smoothbore on Ebay and IIRC a forum member here had one in the classifieds recently. They can be pretty pricey.....

I've got a GM 62 cal (20 gauge) smoothie barrel that migrates between my Hawkens and Renegades. Good barrel, but heavy. Really accurate with Rb to at last 50 yards. Surprisingly good patterns using shot from a cyl bore.

I've been pulling the rear sight off when I use it with shot, but Roundball here on the site had a better suggestion: Just put a tab of black tape across the rear sight notch and call it a "rib."

Definitely worth picking one up if you can find it.

Thanks Longrifle, I got an email today from David at Track of the Wolf saying until the military contracts were filled a barrel was going to be hard to come by. I will keep searching the various classifieds.

Brown bear, that's my idea. I'd like to turkey hunt with my TC. That .62/20 would be a nice way to go.

Longrifle, I used a borrowed 12ga muzzle loader a friend built a couple years ago. We call it "The Gastly Beast". Anyhow, I did get a turkey right at the edge of a recently burned crp field. When we looked at the picture later it was kinda comical. Here I was with a big grin, a dead turkey, The Gastly Beast, and burned up grass all around. We still laugh about that today. Kinda wanta use my own gun though so I'm shopping.

Might try Tip Curtis down in Tenn. If anyone has one its probably him.
