Well it looks like another 1st for me.Never had a muzzy pistol before but I now got one on the way.Its a TC Patriot in 45 cal.Going to make a loading stand before it goes to the range but was wondering what the guys that have use for loads? Was thinking about .015 pillow,.440 RB.,and 20grs of FFFg.

The 20 gr sounds just about right. I use FFFG in my Patriot. I have gone anywhere from about 18 gr to 24 gr. That is enough to get the job done.
Be careful on the loading stand. The angle at which you stock sits in the cradle is important. Too much stress during loading and too heavy of a load can contribute to the stock cracking. Just to be sure, check on the lock bolt side of the stock for the beginnings of a crack. If you find one, take care of it before it gets any worse.
Have fun

I agree. 20-25 grains of powder will produce a moderate load that shouldn't hurt your pistol.

I wouldn't go any heavier though as these pistols have a history of developing cracks in their stocks if shot with heavy loads.

Very true. These guns will only handle light loads. I have a .36 and a .45 both have cracked with moderate loads. I have also found the locks to be less than first quality. TC was able to help with some lock parts last year. These are early guns, not the off breeds they had produced later on. :shake:

I love my Patriot pistol. You need to tinker to find the most accurate load though. When I was using Hoppes BP lube it took 30 grains FFFG to tighten up the groups. When I switched to Ballistol, 20 shoots really well. So experiment a bit until you find the sweet spot.

Got it in the mail yesterday.I would classify it 99%.Paid $325 with ship included.I don't think that was real bad.
Now the work/fun starts.

Any chance that was the pistol advertised in muzzle blasts? I was trying to get up the money for that one.

Dixon's sells 'em for $400 and up in fine condition, if memory serves.

Good luck with it Tom! Do you have a pistol loading stand? Those things also help to support the gun while loading, so as to help avoid the stock cracking problem  .

PT me with your email and I'll send you photos of mine........

Re-formated the 'puter a while back and you "fell through the cracks".
