My friend has one in 50Cal.Percussion.I was walking behind him one morning a few years ago when we walked right into a nice 9 pointer standing looking directly at us.I could tell that it was a buck but he had the only clear shot so he smoked it right in the Brisket...He ran only 20 or so yards Then dropped Dead.Nice accurate rifle that was.

Thompson/Center Catalog #19, from 1992 shows the Penn. Hunter rifle, and carbine, both barrels stepped from octagonal to round, in both flintlock, and caplock versions.
