I have a TC Hawken stock with a GM drop in barrel, I made a peep sight for the gun because of my old eyes but can't get enough torque on the wood screw in the tang to hold it in place firmly without stripping the wood screw.
Have any of you guys drilled through to the trigger plate and put a regular tang bolt in that threaded into the trigger plate? I have built enough guns to be able to do this easily but don't know if there is an unseen design problem that would prevent me from doing so.
I put this on my Beck rifle, one screw keeps it in place.
