So my TC .58 has the Quick Load Accuratizer" (QLA) but I want to shoot patch round balls in it.

Will loading these be a problem?

I'm going to disagree with everyone (sort of).....I hate the QLA barrels....Personally, the deeper rifling of a CVA will give better accuracy than an easy loading QLA barrel.

They are also a "****y trap waiting for the experimenting patch and ball shooter....as the increase their patch thickness to achieve better accuracy, the larger bore diameter makes them go to thick....resulting in a stuck projectile, a couple of inches down from the muzzle...

The T/C maxi ball is a great projectile....The QLA barrel is not....IMO.

I would also like to note that the gun at the bottom of that picture is NOT! traditional....

Never had a problem with QLA in my Hawken Clyde. Not to say that what you are saying isn't true. I just never had experienced any problems with loading or accuracy with mine. :idunno:

You are justly right about the picture at the bottom. To be truthful, I never gave it much notice until you just pointed it out.

Just wanted to show those member's a picture who might have never heard of QLA.

Will have to get a pair of scissors and cut that blemish of that pamphlet! :barf:

If the moderators or Claude deletes the photo I would surely understand and wouldn't blame them for doing so.

Respectfully, Cowboy

with QLA or without QLA they shoot the same for me. don't particularly like it, don't dislike it. it's just there on some and not on others. I believe a lot of the problem people have with it is just knowin' it's there puts an unconcious hitch in their get along.

Well said!

I agree with what you said. I personally don't care if it has QLA or not. I haven't noticed any benefit or anything negative either.

I had a Renegade with QLA, and already figured it needed an .018 patch. It never was an issue. I thought it loaded easier than the Hawken, with regular barrel. I have loaded it, with just the ram rod, and didn't need a ball starter.
